The heat invites us to slow down. Drink some water.<br \/>\nFind some shade. Take a break. Pay attention to our bodies. Check on one another.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Perhaps there is wisdom there for more than the weather.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We carry many things. Responsibilities. Expectations. Grief. Disappointment. Sometimes, we even carry the weight of what others have done to us long after the moment has passed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.campbellunited.org\/web\/worship\/this-week-in-worship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This Sunday<\/a>, the Sixteenth Sunday After Pentecost, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Matthew, turning our attention to Matthew 18:21\u201335. I\u2019ll be preaching a message titled <em>\u201cGrace That Keeps Going.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\nIn this passage, Peter asks Jesus how many times he must forgive. He wants a number\u2014a reasonable limit.<br \/>\nJesus responds by moving forgiveness beyond calculation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The mercy we receive is meant to become mercy we share.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Forgiveness does not mean that we should pretend harm did not happen. It travels\u2014from God to us,<br \/>\nthrough us, and toward one another.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><u>A Practice for the Week: <\/u><u>Let Grace Keep Going<br \/>\n<\/u><\/span>Take a moment and consider the following questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What grace have I received?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">What am I carrying that I may be ready to release?<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Who might need grace from me today?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you reflect, I invite you to remember those among us who are grieving, those struggling with illness, communities impacted by human and natural disasters, and places throughout our world longing for a just peace. May the grace we have received keep traveling toward a hurting world.<\/p>\n<p>Please continue to take care of yourselves during these unusually warm days. Slow down when you need to.<br \/>\nTake a break. Stay hydrated. Check on someone else. Caring for ourselves and caring for one another are wonderful ways we practice beloved community.<\/p>\n<p>I pray you will join us for worship <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campbellunited.org\/web\/worship\/this-week-in-worship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this Sunday<\/a>, whether in person or online.
