Campbell United Methodist Church
South Bay Area Church

REGULAR SERVICES
Sunday: 10:00am

CHAPEL COMMUNION
Tuesday: 6:00pm

In this season, we are “making the road by walking”—following an invitation to walk together through the whole story of God’s hopes and dreams for creation, seen through the lens of the Christian tradition. Using the structure suggested by a recently-published book by Brian McLaren, we are going back to the beginning, trying to re-capture what Christianity looked like before it was a rich and powerful religion, before it had buildings and budgets and institution-sustaining agenda. We join a movement of progressive Christians all over the world who are seeking to re-make what it means to be the Church.

Sermon titles coming up:

September 21 – Looking for God: Finding Patterns of Meaning

September 28 – Humanity In Trouble: How Did This Happen?

October 5 – God’s Work: Toppling Our Towers

October 12 – Children’s Sabbath: What Does It Mean to Be Blessed?

October 19 – Turn Around. It’s Not Too Late

October 26 – An Ancient Story: Rivalry and Reconciliation

ALL ARE WELCOME!

Directory Photos

One Last Chance!! We are (finally) in a position to finish the Church Pictorial Directory, and as part of that, you have another chance to have your picture taken, if you did not already. Photo sessions will be offered, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 26th, 27th, and 28th, in the Education Building. You can sign up online, using this link Sign up for Photo Session or by signing up in person during Fellowship Hour this Sunday. If you sign up online, please schedule one 10-minute appointment for every two people being photographed. (For example, if there are 6 persons in your family, sign up for 3 10-minutes slots.) That will help prevent a logjam of people waiting for the picture session.

Children’s Musical DVD’s

If you ordered a DVD or Blu Ray of this year’s Children’s Musical, they are ready for pickup in the church office.

Message for the Soul

Inmate Art Captivates the Crowd

Stunning! Incredible! Beautiful! Wow! These exclamations may still be reverberating within the Halls of Justice as they were echoed over and over again by visitors who attended the opening of Transformation: Art from Within, an exhibit displaying a collection of artwork created by women and men incarcerated at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, California.
